60th birthday!

Default about me

I am an awesome wife, mother of two beautiful children and a nanna to two gorgeous granddaughters!

I’ve been crafting all my life in one way or another. I learnt to knit and cross-stitch when I was at infant school, many years ago!

When I married and had children, I taught myself how to machine knit and that was my passion for so many years.  I still have all my knitting machines! Then I discovered cross-stitching kits and fell in love all over again.
My love for paper crafting came about by accident - as I was channel hopping one day, I discovered a craft channel and they were showing how to stamp and heat emboss.  Well, that was the start of my papercraft obsession - 18 years ago!

Then I came across a stamp set called ‘Holiday Home’ and fell in love with it but couldn’t buy it anywhere! I made enquiries and found that ‘Stampin’Up’ were the producers, but unfortunately, I’ve still not been able to buy one anywhere - I was too late as it had been retired! And that’s when my passion started for ‘Stampin’Up’. I became a Stampin’Up Demonstrator to be able to buy their products before anyone else could, as I love the quality and the way it all coordinates so easily.

My local craft shop, where I attended Saturday morning workshops closed, so I decided to branch out and teach classes in my home. I now run two monthly stamp clubs, each with six+ members.  I love to make cards and I also love learning new techniques and sharing ideas with my groups.

I'm inspired by things I see on blogs, websites and books. I also get ideas from friends. I collect ideas from lots of places which makes it hard to keep track of where that idea came from. I sometimes change the layout, colours or stamp, but sometimes the card is CASEd exactly. Please know that if I have copied (and shared) an idea that was originally yours, I thank you for your original creation and the fact that you shared it on the web. Hopefully, you will consider it a compliment and a sincere form of flattery!

At times I will use non Stampin’Up products to make my cards, as I have a craft room full of lovely craft materials that need to be used!

Thank you for stopping by!

Crafty hugs,
Maria
